Join Lisa Porter for a weekend of quiet contemplation, gentle movement and mindful eating with no internet or social media. This is an opportunity to take a break from constant checking and browsing and to connect with the present. 

Lisa will guide you through simple movement exercises that help bring awareness to the body in space, returning always to the breath. There is no previous movement or dance experience required.

We see the body as being in the world, not separate from it. We will discuss how we craft narratives to understand our idea of Self and look for tiny cracks in our constructed reality. There will be plenty of quiet time for reading, writing and meditation. This practice embraces curiosity, improvisation and openness to change. It is patient with uncertainty. 

We'll prepare meals together using our most popular Ochre House Retreat recipes and discuss nutrition, food sensitivities and ingredient sourcing. Slow is the operative word here. We'll take time to think about our relationship to food and and to appreciate the bounty of the Earth. 

There will be daily outdoor excursions -  rain or shine - so bring all weather clothes. We'll visit beach and barrens, paying close attention to information conveyed to us through our senses. After a long winter of being indoors (for many of us), it's time to check in with the world outside our human-built walls and witness the beauty of life around us. 

Untether invites you to disconnect from the cacophony of digital noise to help calm busy minds and restless bodies. It's not based on a model of expertise but rather that of collective exploration. We are all amateurs. We are always tripping, falling and failing. It's how we learn.

Guests stay on site at Ochre House Retreat.  There are 3 rooms with 1 double bed and 2 rooms with 2 single beds. Rooms with 2 beds cannot be booked as single occupancy. If you would like to share with a friend, let us know in your registration request below.
